1957 MILWAUKEE BRAVES NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS WORLD SERIES PIN BUTTON RIBBON
2-1/16" no maker with spring pin holding 6" ribbon of which 5" shows names of 24 team members, very unusual addition for the day and only example we've seen. This 1957 Braves club won the National League pennant with a record of 95-59 under manager Fred Haney. The Braves offense was led by a pair of National Baseball Hall of Fame sluggers who would both go on to hit over 500 home runs, "Hammerin Hank" Aaron and Eddie Mathews along with a third Cooperstown enshrine, Red Schoendienst. The mound corps was led by the great Hall of Fame lefty Warren Spahn. Milwaukee would go on to defeat the powerful New York Yankees in seven thrilling games to take the 1957 World Series. Fabric has two horizontal and two circular crease lines but remains totally clean as is the button. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
