    Description

    Handsome antique calligraphic cast bronze McCormick Building passage door back plates and doorknobs. Have spindles, pins, set screws and mortise passage latches. The beautiful patina is original. Knobs are 2 1/4 inches across. Back plates are 9 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide. The weight of the two back plates is 1 3/4 lbs. and of the two knobs is 2 3/4 lbs. The mortise passage latch is 1/2 lb. The set was designed by Yale and Towne in the Neoclassical style.The Chicago McCormick Building itself was designed by the architects Holabird and Roche and built between 1908 and 1912. Two more sets of this passage door hardware are also listed.
