Based on our hugely popular original set design, Canning Blue is made using a new body material that provides increased vibrancy and brightness.  Volume is also slightly increased in most sets of pipes.  The reed body does not absorb any moisture so can be very quickly and easily dried off during longer playing sessions, therefore extending your playing time.

Canning Sets with Carbon Fibre Bass
This is our original set of drone reeds first launched in 2006 and played by pipers and pipe bands worldwide.
The carbon fibre bass reed produces a deep, strong bass tone and is extremely steady. It comes fitted with a flat silicone bridle for accurate and easy strength adjustment. A tuning screw in the detachable nose cone allows for extra pitch adjustment.
This set comes complete with our standard pitch tenor reeds whose smooth, rich tone compliment the bass drone perfectly. The tenors are also available in a high pitch variation.

MG Drone Extenders for B Flat
Set of 440 Drone Extensions. Add these small extensions to the top of your drones and this will allow you to tune them easily to concert pitch without the need for special reeds.
Made to fit a 14.5mm drone bush with the addition of a little plumbers tape they can be used on a wide variety of pipes. Depending upon your set up you may have to open the drone reed bridles a fraction to compensate for the change in drone operating pressure but once set you can quickly change from concert pitch to todays pitch with the minimum of fuss.

Crozier Cane Drone Reeds
Crozier Cane Drone reeds are the second generation of the original “Ross Reed” that was first manufactured in 1985. The new release coincided with the 20th anniversary of the original reed that was made from a black plastic body with a flat sealed cane tongue.
Identical in manufacturing methods and using the original tools and machinery, the Crozier Cane Reeds are equal to their predecessor in operation and performance but with a modern body design. Due to the increasing pitch of bagpipes in the last 20 years, the new Crozier Cane Reeds are now made to a higher pitch to suit today’s piper.
Crozier Carbon Drone Reeds
Crozier Carbon Drone Reeds are similar to the Omega Drone Reeds in that they operate with a curved body which allows the flat carbon fiber tongue to vibrate. Unlike the Omega reeds where the curve is adjustable, the Crozier Carbon Reeds are made with a permanent fixed curve.
Crozier Drone Reeds also feature a fixed tongue support that sits in a recess at the end of the reed body for stability. The reeds are very easy to set up using the airtight tuning plug and bridle for tonal alterations and have been designed for pipers ranging from beginners to the most advanced pipers.

Crozier V2 (version two) Drone reeds are the second generation of the original
Crozier Carbon Drone reeds that were first manufactured in 2005.
The V2 reeds are equal to their predecessor in operation with a curved body which allows the
flat carbon fibre tongue to vibrate.
The Crozier V2 Drone Reeds have a cane like tonal quality, are higher in pitch and also feature a double O ring bridle and tongue support.

Then the reeds are manufactured in small batches, which ensure a premium quality. Each reed is then tested, varnished, then tested again by me personally. RedWood Drone Reeds Set
The RedWood drone reed has been designed and created by Xavier and Jakez Boderiou. They are a cross-over between the traditional cane reeds and synthetic reeds. The body of the reed in padouk (african red wood) allows for maximum absorbtion and stability. The glass fibre tongues for the tenors and carbon fibre tongue for the bass drone require low maintenance. Each set of RedWood reeds are tested on several instruments in order to ensure compatibility with your bagpipe.
Selbie Imitation Cane Drone Reed Set
Selbie Imitation Cane Drone Reeds have been designed to provide the stability of a synthetic reed while providing the tonal qualities found in the finest cane reeds.
One of the main features of the Selbie reed is T shaped tongue system. The T shape formed tongued fits into the precision engineered reed body. This eliminates the need to glue tongues to the body. It allows the tongue to be removed and cleaned of any residue or seasoning if a reed were to fall into the pipe bag. It can then be refitted to the reed body and set to its original position.
The reeds have been developed to fit most makes of pipes. Black waxed hemp can be added to the rubber sleeve to ensure a secure fit.
Prior to dispatch, the reeds have been tested for pitch and strength, and are delivered with instructions on how to fine tune the reed to obtain the perfect balance between chanter and drones.
