Exquisite Horse Statue - Vintage Realistic - Hecho en Mexico - Equine Art Piece

This is an absolutely
stunning
little statue of a beautiful and noble stallion.
It appears to be made of plaster although the surface is very solid. I was unable to produce a scratch using my fingernail on the interior base. I could not find any chipping or scratches. There is some very slight discoloration in spots due to age. I imagine this could be painted as I have seen elsewhere of other figures, but I think its original color and texture make this a very elegant objet 'd art. There is a stamp underneath stating "Hecho En Mexico". Whomever the artisan was, he/she was quite talented and an obvious horse-lover. It stands at 10.25" base to tip-of-the-ears, 10.5" from nose to tail, and 3"wide at the base. It weighs 3lbs, 4oz.
