Vintage 1940 GR40 Swiss Army Military Aluminum Water Bottle Canteen Flask Cup Holder.
During World War II, the Swiss army was equipped with 1932 aluminum flasks. The set of the flask included an aluminum cup, into which the flask itself was placed in the marching order. The cork of the flask was made of balsa wood and fastened with a string to the eyelet on the flask body. The flask was carried in a hanging bag with a full set of army utensils, or separately, suspended by an eyelet from a waist belt. The flask was colored green or gray. Post-war flasks were painted black. The flask was used by the army until the early 1990s.
