    Military issue aluminum canteen and cover
    Description A Japanese-made canteen in the same style as the United States Army Models 1917 and 1941, it has an Army surplus dark olive [this is a National Bureau of Standards color] insulated cover. The aluminum canteen (A) has a black plastic screw cap on a chain keeper, and is stamped "JAPAN" on the bottom. The case (B) snaps closed at the cover with two brass snaps labled "KIIKIT/(six pointed star)/PULL" and has double brass hooks for attaching to a web belt, and is made of cotton canvas with wool felt insulation. Manufacturer unknown. Circa 1950-1954.
